Flea Facts
Adult fleas use heat to find a warm-blooded host to develop and reproduce. By simulating the warmth of a host, the Victor® Ultimate Flea Trap™ attracts fleas from where they live and hide.
- Use the Ultimate Flea Trap™ year round as an early detection device.
- Use one Victor® Ultimate Flea Trap™ for every room where fleas are present.
- At the fist sign of fleas, treat your pets with a spray, powder or other treatment recommended by a veterinarian.
- Treat the areas of your home where pets frequently lounge.
- Treat home, yard, and all pets simultaneously.
Flea Hazards
- Severe flea infestations can cause intense itching, skin lesions, anemia, weight loss and restlessness.
- Fleas transmit tapeworms and are known carriers of diseases like tularemia, murine typhus and the plague.
Flea Lifecycle
- Eggs are laid on the host and fall off into pet bedding and other areas of your home.
- Eggs hatch within a few days, and larvae head toward dark places around your home and feed on "flea dirt" - secretions of partially digested pet blood.
- Larvae grow, molt twice, then spin cocoons where they pupate.
- Adult fleas emerge from the cocoons, hop onto a host, feed, mate and begin the life cycle all over again.
